Robby had a great time having dinner at Charlie Sheen's the other night to discuss directing episodes of his new show Anger Management for the FX channel. He thinks Charlie is a great guy with a terrific soul! Robby just happened to have a copy of LYRIC'S LOVE LIGHT REVOLUTION to give him (hey -- this IS a grass roots music endeavour -- Robby produced, arranged and engineered Lyric's debut album!) and Charlie absolutely LOVED it -- played it loud and said:  "I LOVE this f***ing record!!!! I LOVE her!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" He actually took a picture holding the album and tweeted about it today: charliesheen Miami bound. I know what I'll be listening to. Nora... Jeff was the head of SVS the precursor to SONY Pictures, and he was responsible for green-lighting MODERN LOVE (SVS/Sony 1990) written, produced and directed by Robby and starring Benson, Karla DeVito, Burt Reynolds, Rue McClanahan, Louise Lasser, Frankie Valli, Cliff Bemis, and introducing LYRIC BENSON! (Benson LOVES Sweetwater!!! He used all Sweetwater gear to produce and engineer Lyric's entire 10 song debut album LYRIC'S LOVE LIGHT REVOLUTION!) Join the revolution! Robby Benson will be at the LA press preview of Disney's Beauty and the Beast 3D held at the El Capitan Theatre at 10:00 am on Saturday Jan. 7th, 2012.  He will be accompanied by his daughter, recording artist Lyric Benson. The two Benson's collaborated on her just released debut album Lyric's Love Light Revolution. The last time Lyric saw Beauty and the Beast, she was sitting on the lap of her father - the voice of Beast, when it was originally released twenty years ago. Moshe Elimelech, who designed the beautiful heart used for Robby Benson's musical Open Heart, will have an Opening Reception on January 7th from 6-9 pm for the showing of his latest works: Geometric Geographics at L2Kontemporary Gallery in LA. "There is a musicality, both in the rhythmic structuring and the pacing of the horizontal and the vertical elements..." says Art Critic Ezrha Jean-Black. L2Kontemporary Gallery is located in Chinatown at 990 N. Hill Street, Los Angeles, CA. Through February 11, 2012. Moshe is married to Robby's sister and fashion designer, Shelli Segal.
