IMDB trivia says: “Robby Benson has worked in television or on a movie every year of his life from 1971-2004.”  So when Robby says, “I have never had more fun working in front of or behind the camera than with Peter and Leslie Tolan” — that’s saying something!  Brave New World did not make it onto NBC’s fall 2011 schedule — but a great time was had by all!

Here are pix of the terrific cast including Ed Begley, Jr., Nick Braun, Will Greenberg, Anna Popplewell, Jazz Raycole, Tyler Blackburn, and Mary Pat Gleason. (photos by  Karla DeVito)

WOW!! I was just thinking about this series yesterday, because I know the new fall season is coming. The photos are awesome. Robby looks great, so happy too. What a mane of hair! The costumes are all terrific. I’m so sorry to hear that NBC won’t pick up the series. I’m sure that’s a bummer, but the important thing is everyone had loads of fun, entertainment should be fun no matter what. I have to say that second photo is gorgeous, like Robby literally stepped out of the past. Thank you so much for sharing these!

I am so sad that your show didn’t get picked up. Is there any possibility that another channel could pick it up? I was so looking forward to seeing on TV again.

I am so sorry that the show was not picked up. It would be great to see you back on TV again Robby, i am watching all your old movies, need to see some new stuff. By the way you have always had fantastic hair, but now it is just, wow. Will we ever be able to see the
    pilot.

There is more violence on television than good adventure shows. NBC made a big mistake!! Reality television shows are not what people want to see at the end of a hard working day! We all need an hour to forget the days troubles and enter into a world far from our own that has excitement, danger, laughter, love and working together to make things better. But, that would be quality entertainment! Something not all can recognize when they see it!!

I was a fan of your movie star image back in the 70s, when I was a teenage girl with a crush. I briefly met you and your wife in the early 80s when you were guests at the San Diego area hotel I was employed with at the time. And I was impressed by how truly nice and *real* you both seemed. The years passed by. My kids were huge fans of Beauty and The Beast, and I of so many of the TV shows you directed. I had no idea how involved you were with these projects. I just thought of you as Robby the teen heartthrob who was nice to me the one time we met. Recently, I read Who Stole The Funny for the first time – and I LAUGHED. Such a great book, and so insightful.
And I’m a renewed fan. I wish you and your beautiful family all the best, and I really hope to see more of you on TV – or maybe in the Idaho hotel I know work in – soon!

  12. Lisa Skellie Says:

Robby Benson was my biggest teen crush ever! I just googled to find out what happened to him and was wowwed at the amount of job terminology I found! Professor–who would of ever thought that! I am more impressed at 42 than I ever was when I was 16! Robby, you are the best!
